The basics
What is IPTV and how does it work in Canada?
IPTV means your TV channels arrive over your home internet instead of a cable or a satellite dish. We email you a login; you type it once into a player app on your TV, stick or box, and the channel list appears with a TV guide. Nothing is installed in your home and nobody needs to visit. The full explanation is on what is IPTV.
How fast will I get my IPTV subscription after I pay?
Usually within minutes. Your username, password and server details are emailed as soon as the Interac e-Transfer shows up on our side. There is nothing to ship.
Can I pay with Interac e-Transfer?
Yes, and most customers do. After you order, we email the e-Transfer details; you send it from your bank app in Canadian dollars. No card number is typed into this website and there is no currency conversion.
Do I need a VPN to use IPTV in Canada?
Not for most homes. A VPN can add distance and slow the stream. Some people use one on restrictive office, campus or hotel networks, or for privacy. Read do you need a VPN for IPTV? for the honest pros and cons.
Is IPTV legal in Canada?
The technology is legal and widely used. What matters is whether content is licensed for distribution. Wave IPTV provides access and setup support; customers are responsible for using the service in line with Canadian law. See our plain-English legal guide and our disclaimer.
Devices and setup
Which devices work with Wave IPTV?
Fire TV Stick, Android TV and Google TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Samsung, LG and VIDAA smart TVs, Roku (with workarounds), NVIDIA SHIELD, Formuler, BuzzTV and MAG boxes, Windows and Mac computers, iPhones, iPads and Android phones. Each has a written setup guide.
Do I need to buy any equipment?
Usually not. If your TV is a smart TV from the last five or so years, or you own any streaming stick, you are ready. If not, a Fire TV Stick or Google TV device is an inexpensive one-time purchase.
Which app should I use?
TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro on Android-based devices; IBO Player Pro, Smart IPTV or Flix IPTV on Samsung, LG and VIDAA; a Smarters-style player on Apple devices; MyTVOnline on Formuler. Our player app comparison explains the differences.
Will you help me set it up?
Yes. Send us a WhatsApp message with your device name and a photo of the screen and we will walk you through it step by step.
Service and quality
How much internet speed do I need?
About 25 Mbps per HD stream and 50 Mbps for 4K, measured on the TV in the evening. Our speed guide has the full breakdown.
Will I get Canadian sports channels for hockey?
Yes. The Canadian sports networks are in the lineup alongside US and international sport. League rights decide which channel carries a game, and regional blackouts apply to every service, so test your team's feed during the trial on a game night.
Can two people watch different channels at the same time?
Yes, on a plan with two or more screens. Each screen is one stream playing at once, and you can choose up to 5 on one account.
What happens if a channel freezes?
Message us with the channel name and your device. Most issues are fixed in minutes: a refreshed playlist, a different stream format in the app, or a switch from Wi-Fi to a cable. See nine buffering fixes.
Is there a TV guide and catch-up?
Yes. Live channels come with an electronic programme guide, and catch-up is available on channels that support it. How to use both is explained in our guide and catch-up walkthrough.
Does my subscription work outside Canada?
Generally yes. Many snowbirds use it in Florida and Arizona all winter. Hotel and public Wi-Fi can be the weak point. Read our guide for watching Canadian TV abroad.
What are M3U and Xtream Codes?
Two ways of delivering your lineup to an app. Xtream Codes is a username, password and server URL; M3U is a single playlist link. We send both. Use Xtream when the app supports it. More in Xtream Codes vs M3U.
Account, payment and refunds
Can I get a free trial before I pay?
Yes. The free trial runs for 24 hours with the full lineup. No card is needed.
Is there a contract or automatic renewal?
Neither. You pay once for the period you choose and the plan ends on its date unless you renew. No stored card, no surprise charge, nothing to cancel.
What is your refund policy?
Plans of 3 months or longer can be refunded in full within 7 days of activation, and you do not need to give a reason. One-month plans are not refundable, which is why the free 24-hour trial comes first. The details are in our refund policy.
Is my payment information safe?
We never ask for or store a card number on this website. Interac e-Transfer moves money bank to bank. The checkout collects only what we need to deliver your login: your name, email, WhatsApp number if you want support there, and your plan. See our privacy policy.
How do I renew?
Place a new order and choose "renewal", or message us. Renewing extends the same login, so your apps keep working.
How do I become an IPTV reseller?
See the reseller program. You buy credits at wholesale, manage your customers from your own panel and set your own prices.
Which cities in Canada do you cover?
All of them. If you have internet, the service works. We have local guides for 16 major cities on our coverage page.
