How to set up IPTV on Formuler Z11, Z10 and Z8 boxes

Formuler boxes are built for IPTV, and it shows. They come with MyTVOnline, a polished player with a cable-style guide and a remote that has proper channel buttons. Setup is the quickest of any device on our list. Have your Wave IPTV details ready.

How to set up IPTV on Formuler Z11, Z10 and Z8 boxes (IPTV Canada setup guide)

Before you start

  1. Your Wave IPTV email with the username, password and server URL.
  2. The box connected to your router, ideally with the included ethernet cable.
  3. The latest firmware and MyTVOnline version: Settings → Device Preferences → About → System update.

  1. Open MyTVOnline

    From the Formuler home screen, open MyTVOnline (shown as MYTVOnline 2 or 3 depending on your model and firmware).

  2. Add a new connection

    Choose Add Portal or Add Connection. Select the Xtream Codes (sometimes labelled XC) option rather than the MAC-based portal. That way you sign in with a username and password and nothing needs registering on our side.

  3. Enter your details

    Give the connection a name such as "Wave", then enter the server URL, username and password from our email. Save, and select the connection to open it.

    Prefer the MAC portal method? Send us the MAC address printed on the back of the box (it also shows in MyTVOnline) and we will tell you whether a portal line can be set up for your plan.

  4. Load the guide and watch

    MyTVOnline downloads the channel list and guide. Open the TV guide view to see the familiar grid, then use the CH+ and CH− buttons on the remote to flip channels just like cable.

Make MyTVOnline feel like home

Spend five minutes in the group manager: hide the countries you never watch, move Canada to the top, and add favourites. MyTVOnline also lets you set a default channel so the box opens straight onto the news or the sports channel you watch most. Catch-up and recording

On channels that support catch-up, an arrow or clock icon appears beside the programme in the guide. Select a past show to play it from the start. Recording to a USB drive is available on most Formuler models through the guide's record button.

If something goes wrong on Formuler

MyTVOnline says "authorization failed"

Double-check the username and password, which are case-sensitive, and the server URL. If you used the MAC portal method, the box must be registered on our side first; switch to the Xtream option or message us.

The guide shows the wrong times

Set the box's time zone under Settings → Device Preferences → Date & time, then refresh the EPG from the MyTVOnline menu.

Can I install other apps on a Formuler?

Yes. Formuler boxes run Android TV, so apps such as TiviMate are available from the store if you want a second player.

My box is an older Formuler Z7 or Z8 Pro

The steps are the same on older models, but menus can differ slightly. Update MyTVOnline first; older versions sometimes hide the Xtream option.
