How to set up IPTV on a MAG box
Seven steps, about six minutes. MAG boxes work differently from every other device: there's no username and password, and no app to install. The box's own MAC address is the credential, so activation happens at our end before you touch the settings menu. That's why this guide starts with the label on the back.
Before you start
- Have the box in your hands — step one is reading the label underneath it.
- A phone to photograph that label. Don't copy the MAC address out by hand.
- Expect a short wait between steps 2 and 5 while we activate the box and send your portal URL.
- An ethernet cable if the router is within reach. MAG Wi-Fi is the weakest part of these boxes.
Find the MAC address on the back of the box
Turn the MAG box over. On the label underneath you'll see a MAC address — twelve characters in six pairs separated by colons, beginning
00:1A:79on most MAG models.Photograph the label with your phone. Don't copy it out by hand: 0 and O, and 8 and B, are easy to confuse on a small printed label, and one wrong character means we activate a box that isn't yours.

Send that photo to support with your order details. MAG boxes don't take a username and password — the box itself is the credential, so activation is tied to that MAC address and done entirely at our end.
We'll activate it and send you back a portal URL. You need that URL for step 5, so wait for it before going further into the box's menus.
This step comes first for a reason. Some guides have you entering a portal URL before you've been given one. There's nothing to type until we've replied.Open the settings menu on the box
Power the box on and wait for the main portal screen. Select Settings, then press the SETUP or SET button on the remote — depending on your remote it may be labelled either way.

Choose System settings, then Servers, then Portals. Three levels down — the menus are plain but the path isn't obvious the first time.

Two fields to fill in:
Portal 1 name Anything you like — "Wave" is fine. This is only a label on screen. Portal 1 URL The exact address we sent you after activation. Type it character by character and check it twice before saving. The MAG on-screen keyboard is slow and unforgiving, so take your time here. A single wrong character produces a blank portal at the end and no explanation as to why.

Select OK to save the changes, then press EXIT on the remote to come out of the settings menus.
Reboot the box
The box will ask whether to restart. Choose OK. The portal settings only take effect after a reboot, so skipping this leaves you looking at the old screen and wondering what went wrong.
When it comes back up, your channel list loads. First launch takes a little longer than usual.
Use the ethernet port. MAG boxes have one on the back, and a wired connection is noticeably steadier than the Wi-Fi on these devices — particularly the older 250 and 254 models.
If something goes wrong

Which MAG models does this work on?
The same steps cover the MAG 250, 254, 256, 322, 324, 349, 351, 420, 424 and most others. Infomir has kept the settings menu broadly consistent across generations, so the path — System settings, Servers, Portals — is the same even where the screens look slightly different.
Some clone boxes sold as MAG-compatible use a different menu layout. If yours doesn't match these steps, send support a photo of the settings screen and we'll point you to the right path.
The box boots to a blank or black portal screen
Almost always a typo in the portal URL. Go back into System settings → Servers → Portals and check it character by character against the address we sent — especially any dashes, dots and the port number at the end.
If the URL is definitely right, confirm we've activated the MAC. Send support the photo of the label again and we'll check it matches what's on our side.
And check the box actually has a network connection: System settings → Network will tell you.
I entered everything but nothing changed
You almost certainly skipped the reboot. MAG boxes do not apply portal changes until they restart — the settings are saved but not loaded. Power it off at the wall for ten seconds and back on.
Where exactly is the MAC address?
On the label on the underside of the box, printed as six pairs of characters separated by colons. On most MAG models it starts 00:1A:79.
You can also read it on screen: from the boot menu or System settings → About, depending on the model. If the printed label has worn off, the on-screen version is the one to photograph.
Can I move my subscription to a different MAG box?
Yes. Send support the MAC address of the new box and we'll move the activation across. Because the MAC is the credential, the old box stops working once the transfer is done — which is what you want if you've sold or replaced it.
Do I need to redo this when my subscription renews?
No. Renewal extends the activation already tied to your MAC address, so the box carries on working without you touching the settings. You'd only repeat this on a different box.
